The third round of the Final of the European Autonomous Robot Championships held in Rapperwil, Switzerland, on 30 May 2010. The Teams: RCVA (Université Paris Ouest Nanterre La Defense, France) vs. Roboterclub Aachen e.V., Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (RWTH), Germany. RCVA wins and is European Champion!

RCVA (France) vs. ETS Montreal (France). This was a semi-final at the Eurobot 2010 competition, held in Rapperswil (south of Zurich). The objective for the robots is to collect as many "oranges" (orange balls on trees), "corn" (white pegs) and "tomatoes" (red balls) in 90 seconds. Oranges were 500 points, corn was 300 and tomatoes were 250. Apologies for the shaky camera.

ROBO-ONE 11: Dr. GIY Pulls Off A Hat Trick http://www.robots-dreams.com/2007/03/roboone_11_dr_g.html The term "hat trick" in sports refers to winning three times, and on Sunday evening during the final bout of the two day ROBO-ONE 11 competition http://www.robots-dreams.com/roboone/ , Dr. GIY and Yokozuna Great finished an absolutely perfect hat trick. Back in January, Dr. GIY won the ROBO-ONE Grand Prix Championship competing in numerous bouts over a period of six weeks. Then on Sunday, against an extremely tough field of robot competitors, his robot managed to win the championship for its weight classification, and went on to fight Chrome Kid for the ROBO-ONE 11 Grand Championship. The 32 robots that qualified for the final day's bouts were divided into two equal groups of 16 by weight. By point of reference, the final rankings for the heavier classification was KZR-5 (32cm 2.9kg) in 3rd place, Ivre (35cm 2.95kg) in 2nd place, and Yokozuna Great (40cm 2.9kg) in 1st place. For the lighter weight classification the ranking was King Kizer (40cm 2.7kg) in 3rd place, Taekwon-V (43cm 2.6kg) in 2nd place, and Chrome Kid (38cm 2.61kg) in 1st place. Just to win its robot weight classification, Yokozuna Great had to win four really hard matches. Then, with only a short break to catch his breath and swap out batteries, Dr. GIY had to have the robot back in the ring and ready to do battle. Dr. GIY always shows the utmost respect for the other competitors and fans alike. After the final match with Chrome Kid he took the time to thank and shake hands with the opposing team before he picked up Yokozuna Great and turned to the crowd for a lot of well deserved applause. Extremely humble and modest, yet a really tough competitor, he's a great role model and mentor to many of the people involved hobby and competitive robotics.

Final game of the RoboCup 2008 Humanoid League. NimbRo (Bonn and Freiburg, Germany) met Team Osaka (Japan) on July 20th in Suzhou, China. For the first time, 3 vs. 3 soccer games were played. NimbRo won the exciting game 7:6 after extra time.

Team Osaka (Japan) vs. NimbRo (Univ. of Freiburg, Germany) The 2007 final was one of the best humanoid soccer games ever, if not the best. Team Osaka played with one goalie and one field player while NimbRo used two field players. The Osaka robots were very quick to approach the ball and to kick it across the field. The NimbRo robots excelled in one-on-one fights for the ball and also demonstrated nice team play. The exciting game was open until the end. The final score was 8:6 for NimbRo.
